% of income from government securities

Hi,

I saw this question posted in 2022 but there was no answer. When calculating the percentage of income from government securities, should I include all types of dividends listed - Nonqualified, Qualified, and Section 199A dividends in my percentage calculations?

Income from government securities typically include interest income from bonds, treasury bills, and similar instruments.

Dividends usually come from stocks or other investments are not government security income.

Interest income is only included if it comes from a government security.

You will need to look at your portfolio and determine which items are government securities and total the income generated. Your broker may have a detail page with the % available.
