Question

On my 1040 "Child tax credit" is cheked for my 1st child but for my 2nd child(Aug 2020 born)"Child tax credit" isnt checked but "Credit for other dependents" is checked.

Why do I not get Child tax credit for my newborn (Born in Auguat 2020) ?

A child born (even on Dec 31) is considered to live with you the whole year.  So pick the Whole Year at the top of the drop down box.  Go back through My Info and check.

Yes if you already filed then you need to amend it.  If you haven't filed yet or it rejected you can just fix it.
