On schedule B, why is it checked yes next to foreign bank account on my federal return?

You need to go back to that section of the return and verify the answer you provided to the questions regarding foreign accounts.

 

Go back to the wages and income section and scroll down to the Interest and Dividends section and select 1099-OID, Foreign Accounts and select start, revisit, or whatever it takes to open it to review each question in that section and the answer you provided.  Hopefully, you answered a question incorrectly and now it is fixed.

 

"Owned or signed on a foreign bank, broker, or other financial account" is where you want to open to review.  You will have to mark the box to begin with to review your answer and make changes if necessary.

 

Then, once you are out of that section, you can go back and mark "none of the above".

 

That should solve your problem.

 

If the answer is no, then be sure it is answered "No"
