I have a motor vehicle tax bill and a supplemental motor vehicle tax bill that should be entered into the personal property field (from what I've found so far online). The problem I'm finding is I'm unable to locate the field, where should this information be entered? Thank you!

The property taxes (state and local) on your car (or RV, mobile homes, boats, planes, motorcycles and any other movable assets) are deductible in:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Deductions Credits - you may have to click on See all tax breaks
  3. Car and Other Thing You Own
  4. Personal Property Taxes

To be deductible, the taxes:

  • must be assessed on annual basis and
  • must be based on the value of your car (or other personal property), and
  • must be charged on an annual basis (even if collected differently)

Note: Property tax on your 1st and 2nd home:

  1. Federal Taxes
  2. Deductions & Credits
  3. Your Home, Property Taxes

I want to claim my paid vehicle taxes on my state return, as I've done every year. Not registration fees.
