I cannot post the amounts of medical costs.

There could be several explanations for this. This Turbo Tax link gives some possible reasons.

You are filing Married filing Separately and is forced to take the Standard Deduction.
You double clicked on the box by accident and it brought up old information from a previous year of doctors and costs that apparently were being used..If you delete that information, you should be able to enter new information.
If yoiu information is grayed out, you may want to right click (or double click) on the grayed out space to see whether additional data is listed there.

Same problem...TTAX will not accept entries.
