I paid property taxes on my personal residence in 2019.   Why won't the turbotax program allow me to enter that information?

Your property taxes can be entered through two methods on your return.

    1. You can enter the amount if it is reported on your Mortgage Form 1098, or
    2. You can enter it separately by
      1. Enter property taxes in the search area in the upper right hand corner of your screen.
      2. Select Jump to property taxes,

I believe I am having the same problem raised in the original question. I know *where* to enter Property Tax in Turbo Tax -- I've used the program for many years and I am looking at the correct section.  When I try to enter the field for Property Tax on my primary home, it shows as greyed-out and will not take any data.  I am able to fill out the following field for property tax on other properties, but not he primary home field.  This was true a week ago, and I assumed it was a bug, but more recent updates and re-starts have not solved the problem.

If you do not have mortgage interest to report, follow these steps to enter only your property taxes:

    1. Click on Federal Taxes > Deductions & Credits.
    2. In the Your Home section, click on the Start/Revisit box next to Property Taxes.
    3. On the next screen, enter the property taxes in the box labeled Additional property (real estate) taxes
