MY 2023 property tax was paid 1/4/2024.
Can I deduct it for 2023 or do I have to wait until next year?
Wait until you prepare your 2024 return . The year in which you actually paid the tax is what matters---not what year it was "for." You did not pay in 2023, so it does not go on a 2023 return.
