Property taxes paid at closing

I refinanced our condo in the middle of the year and they paid half of my property taxes at closing of the refinance. Because of this, the full amount of the taxes paid is not showing on our 1098 forms. The lender has forwarded me the closing disclosure showing that the payment was made then. Do I need any other kind of documentation to deduct this?

No.  That is all the documentation you need, any property taxes paid in 2016 can be deducted.

You can go directly to itemized deductions by following these steps:

1. Sign into your account and select your current return

2. Select My Account in the top Right

3. Select Tools

4. Select Topic Search (see attached image)

4. Search for itemized deductions and select Go

This will take you to the interview process for your property tax deductions.
