Qualified Charitable distribution

My husband paid the facility for his mother memory care. Can the Memory Care facility be a "qualified  charity ?

    No.   Your MIL's memory care unit it not a charity.   It is a health care facility.  Money paid on your MIL's behalf is not a charitable donation.    If  your MIL is your dependent then you may be able to enter the memory care unit expenses as medical expenses.
