Real state Entry error

I enter the wrong amount as a deduction fir Real Estate Taxes.  Turbo Tax will not allow me to update or correct the entry.  Also, it posted the amount i entered as coming from my mortgage 1098. The Tax bill comes from the City Treasurer's office andhas no connection to my mortgage  1098.

I cannot file my return until this is corrected.

First remove the property tax that was entered as part of the 1098 form:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes.
  3. Go to Deductions and Credits.
  4. Go to Your Home and Click show more.
  5. Select Mortgage Interest and Refinancing
  6. (Form 1098) and click revisit.
  7. On the screen Let's get the details from your lender 1098, scroll down and delete the property tax if it was not reported on your 1098 form.

Next, enter the amount of property tax paid not on form 1098:

  1. Go to Deductions and Credits.
  2. Go to Your Home and Click show more.
  3. Click revisit next to the Property (Real Estate) Taxes
