Rebate Recovery When Filing Different Than Last Year

Last year (2019) was the first year since my wife and I married, in which we filed a joint return.  It's never been advantageous because my taxes are more complicated, and just worked out this way best.  We have two dependents, but jointly, our income greatly reduced our stimulus payments.  This year, we are filing separate again, and she will be claiming the two kids.  When TT asks for how much SHE received from the stimulus payments, what am I supposed to enter?  I do not qualify on my income, but she does with hers alone.

Each of you will claim 1/2 of the stimulus amount that was received.

Married filing jointly.  If your stimulus payment  for 2019 was based on a joint return, you and your spouse are each treated as having received half the payment that was issued.

You and your spouse each will claim credit for receiving 1/2 of the total stimulus.
