YEAR 2023

I imported my 1099-b from company and numbers were ok including a cents.

Lot of proceeds 0n 1099-b were 0.25 ,0.25.0.25 0.10, 0.20, 0.20 and they were rounded down to zero on 8949. That resulted final negative number higher than one on 1099-b ( instead -$296 1099-b it was

-$298  on final 8949and and schedule D. This EXTRA -$2.00 GAVE me extra $6.00 more on refund

Problem is on 8949 when rounded numbers to the point that 8949 number is - $2.00 higher than 1099-b   I tried to put cents on 8949 but rejected.

DO I HAVE TO AMEND THIS TAX RETURN ?

You do not have to amend the tax return. The IRS doesn't care about a $2 rounding error. IRS forms do not allow cents. The IRS wants all amounts on a tax return to be rounded to whole dollars.

No need to amend for a trivial amount.
