Should I override Lender #2 box 10 with 0 on my 1098 if my mortgage loan was sold and both lenders show the same about of escrow payment? Lender #2 paid but full refund.

My Lender #2 did not receive the refund until 2023. I am afraid that filing two 1098s claiming the exact same escrow payout is doubling up.

Yes, you may eliminate duplicate entries for a sold mortgage. Also, we recommend that you mark the first 1098 (from the mortgage seller) as not the most recent version. Then mark the new mortgage 1098 as the final version. This avoids some duplication within TurboTax.
