Shouldn't my son, who turned 17 in 2020 still qualify for the child tax credit?

I know in the past that if children turned 17 during the year they would be an "other dependent" but was told that it changed for the 2020 taxes. Is this wrong?

For the 2020 return the child had to be under the age of 17 for the child tax credit. For the 2021 return they must be under the age of 18. Sadly you're going to miss the mark both tax years.
