The product continues to say section unavailable and keeps pushing out the date.  I have had my taxes done for over a month except this one section.  What is the delay?

The IRS form is no longer in draft status.  The current estimate is now March 15th.  It was March 8th.

To claim the nonrefundable Solar Energy Federal Tax credit, you need to complete and attach IRS Form 5695 (Residential Energy Credits) to your federal tax return.

The residential solar energy credit is worth 30% of the installed system costs through 2032. 26% in 2033. 22% in 2034 and expires after that.

    Entering Energy Home Improvements:

    1. Open your return (if not already open).
    2. Enter "energy improvements"  in the Search box.
    3. Click on "Jump to energy improvements" link.
    4. Enter "Yes" to the question, "Did you make any energy efficient improvements in 2024 or have a carryforward from 2023?". Click on Continue.
    5. Enter energy improvements information, and Continue.

The first part of the interview covers improvements like doors, windows, furnace, air conditioning, and heat pumps.  If you're looking for other improvements like solar, geothermal, wind, and fuel cell, just keep going—the program will ask you about these soon.

According to the Forms Availability list, Form 5695 (Solar Credit) is ready to be e-filed.   What form are you inquiring about?

    Residential Energy Credits

When I searched for solar tax credit it takes me to investment credits and it says this.  It was Feb 8th, Feb something, March 8th, and now March 15th.

Is there another area to fill out in Turbo Tax that I am missing?

    Thanks,

    Sean
