Question

SSN instead of EIN for child care credit

My daughter goes into a home based daycare/preschool in CA. While entering the child dependent care credit, it asked me to enter Organization EIN.

The daycare owner mentioned she doesn't have an EIN, but instead provided me with her SSN and other details, such as complete name and home address.

Can I put her as a person providing care and mention the amount I paid to the daycare along with her SSN for claiming child dependent care credit.

If someone can mention that this look good, it would be great.

Yes.  Go through the screen entries again.  When you enter in the TIN number for the provider, there should be a check box or an entry that allows you to state if the TIN is an EIN or an SSN.

It only allows to enter the provider as an Organization or a Person. If I select Organization, it mention the EIN only and doesn't give me the option of SSN.
