We received our first stimulus payment, but not our second. When doing the recovery rebate credit, it is showing up as $3600.00 instead of $1200.00. Not sure how to change the amount. How do I do that?

    The amount of recovery credit that will display on the form depends on the number of dependents under 17 plus the taxpayer's.  If it listed $3.600, you can reconcile the amount by entering the actual amount on the line that asked "How much was the first stimulus payment received?".. On the next line of the Recovery Rebate Form  "How much was the second stimulus payment received", enter zero, if didn't receive it. You will receive your second stimulus payment as Recovery Rebate Credit.
