Hi, I know this may be a stretch, but I was wondering can I get a tax credit if I spend $300 a year buying things for a relative in a nursing home? Things like a coat, shoes, take out etc.

There is no federal tax credit. This does not count as a donation since you are giving it to a specific person. There could be a state deduction, but usually not when you are giving items to a relative.
