Question

The online software is not allowing me to edit the Sale of Business Property. How can I make this edit?

When I try to edit "Sale of Business Property", the software sets me up for entering a new sale and I can't find the old one to edit or delete.

It depends on where you entered the sale.

 

If you sold a rental asset, go back to Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E) to edit the sale.

 

  1. Edit your asset. 
  2. Select Yes on Did You Stop Using This Asset in 2021?
  3. Go through the screens

If you entered the asset in Sale of Business Property, you will have to select the correct category on the screen Any Other Property Sales? You may have chosen the wrong one.
