The system is not allowing me to add my expenses for Door Dash unless I pay for the premium, which I do not want to do. Why won't it let me add my expenses?

That's how turbotax is designed. If you are self-employed and you need to file a schedule C to report business income and expenses, you must upgrade to the Premium version.
