TurboTax is saying that my baby paid more than half of her living expenses, so cannot be a dependent. Why?

She was born in July of 2023 so she cannot pay her own way.  There is no trust or bank account for her to pull funds from.

You answered a question in My Info incorrectly.  Click the child's name in My Info.  Go back through the questions.   Make sure you say she lived with you the whole year, even if she was born late in 2023.  And when it asks if she paid for over half her own support say NO to that question.

Yes ... go back and read those screens again carefully.  Unless the child owns the home you live in and has a large trust account that pays all the bills  she did NOT provide her own support.

You mis-read a question in the My Info section and answered it wrong. See it quite often. The question is asking if the "CHILD" (NOT YOU) provided more than half of their own support. You answered yes, when you should have answered no. Just work it back through and answer the question with NO.
