Question

Turbotax will not let me add my first time homebuyer credit form 5405. How do I make this work?

    The first time homebuyer credit is not available in 2024.

     

    • The first-time homebuyer tax credit was offered from 2008 to 2010. 
    • The First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit would be a $15,000 federal tax credit for first-time home buyers. 
    • It has not been introduced as a bill as of February 10, 2025 in the 119th Congress (2025-2026).
    • It was introduced in each of the prior two congressional sessions and did not receive a vote in either.
