Two 1098s and don't want to double count points paid a purchase

I bought a home in 2023 and the builder quickly sold off my loan.   I have two 1098 that both show points paid on purchase of principal residence.  Do I have to manually remove one to make sure I don't double count as both reflect the exact same number in box 6 for $419.04.

It depends.  You may want to look at your original loan/mortgage documents to see exactly what the amount of points was supposed to be.  If you are not sure, you should call both lenders to verify you paid the funds they indicate.  Once you are satisfied, enter the appropriate amount of points paid.
