Question

Unexpected Roth 401k amounts

I reached a screen in TurboTax Desktop called "Retirement Deductions Results" showing my self employment contributions. It shows contributions for Self-Employed Roth 401ks that I did not make. I don't recall entering these manually on any screens. I searched through my  entries and can't find where these contributions might have been introduced. Is there a way I can locate and  remove them?

If you are self-employed, check your contributions under Business Income and Expenses > Less Common Business Situations> Self-Employed Retirement. See if any entries are made.

Also check your forms to see if you have a Roth 401K worksheet listed.  If so delete it. If in Turbo Tax online:

    1. Go to tax tools
    2. Tools
    3. Delete a form
    4. If a a Roth 401K worksheet is listed, delete it.

If using Turbo Tax software, go to the forms mode and delete the form from there.
