Question

What affects if you receive a tax break from an HSA contribution? (Last year I received a $3k break. This year's return is showing $0 and it's not clear why) Thx

HSA contributions that are made through payroll have already reduced your taxable income- so you are getting a tax break!  If you contributed more to your HSA, not through payroll, you can enter that separately.
