You can't enter an international phone number in the Mailing Address & Phone number section of the Personal Interview. The IRS will not call an international phone number.

You can enter the phone number of a relative or friend in the U.S, or a "dummy number" (800-555-1212). This will allow you to complete your return, and the IRS will identify your entry as a placeholder number - if they have questions, they will mail them to you.

Hi Victoria!

Saw that you're a tax expert and I had just a quick question hopefully you may know the answer to!

I filed my taxes for 2018/2019 and I just mailed them but I didn't know I was supposed to make my check out to the state of Michigan instead of my residential area and I also didn't sign the documents... Do you know if this will be a problem when trying to receive my funds..

Yes, this could cause a problem.  If you mailed your tax return without signing the return and/or including a copy of your W-2s, then the return is not complete and cannot be processed.

You can print and mail another copy of the return after signing the forms.  This may reduce any delay when the IRS cannot process the first one that you sent.

Also, if your check was not made out to the correct entity, but it was enclosed with an unsigned tax return, then it should eventually be returned to you.  You could stop payment on the incorrect check and enclose a correct one when you resend the signed forms.
