My partner is a US citizen, I am a foreign national. We are only two partners, each have 50% partnership in the LLC (1065). With our Tax Filing, on my EIN it only allows for APPLD or a Social Security number (both which I do not have). How do i enter that I am a foreign national on my EIN? It does not allow me to enter FOREIGNUS

As a foreign national without an SSN, you need to apply for an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) to complete tax filings in the US using Form W-7. Here are the steps to apply for an ITIN:

    1. Complete Form W-7: Fill out the "Application for IRS Individual Taxpayer Identification Number."
    2. Gather Documents: Provide proof of foreign status and identity, such as a passport.
    3. Submit Application: Mail the form and documents to the IRS, visit an IRS Taxpayer Assistance Center, or use a Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA).

For more details, visit the IRS website and the Form W-7 instructions and forms.
