I drove my vehicle and rented a house in Alaska while working since August. My job did not pay any moving or relocation fees. I paid for everything; gas, groceries, rent etc. My home is in Louisiana and I do plan to file Louisiana taxes. Can any of this be claimed as deductions? & which service on TurboTax would I choose for help? I have used TurboTax the past 9 years, but never had a complicated return. This one just seems like it could be complicated, or am I overthinking it?

Sorry--job-related expenses are no longer deductible for W-2 employees on your federal return, nor are moving expenses deductible on your federal return (except for certain active duty members of the military).

Your expenses to move and live in AK are all personal expenses.  AK does not have a state income tax so at least you do not have that to worry about.

The income you earned in AK does not go on your LA return, but any LA income must be on your LA income tax return.

You can use Deluxe to prepare your return, or if you want more help, you can try TurboTax Live.
