What if I didn’t work for 3 months because of surgery and a car accident?

Your income tax refund or tax due is based on how much income you  received during the entire year, not how many months it took for you to get it.  You do not have to enter anything about not working for several months on your tax return.  You just enter all of your 2019 income by entering whatever tax documents that income is reported on.
