We bought a Tesla in Dec. 2019 and are eligible for the $1875 tax credit, but when I fill out the form with all of the information, I get to a page that says my personal portion of the ev tax credit is $467. Why am I not getting the full $1875?

That form was just updated in TurboTax today.  The calculation issue has been corrected but you will need to delete Form 8936 and re-enter to get TurboTax to calculate it correctly.   If you are using TurboTax Desktop, use Forms mode to delete the form.  Here is the general procedure for viewing the forms list and deleting unwanted forms, schedules, and worksheets in TurboTax Online:

  1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
  2. In the left menu, select Tax Tools and then Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, choose Delete a form.
  4. Select Delete next to the form/schedule/worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.
