What is this SCAM!!! I do NOT have a financial account in a foreign country. WHY are you trying to force me to upgrade?

Did you answer NO when asked if you had a foreign account?

Click on Wages & Income, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click Continue

The following screen will ask about a foreign account

OR???

Do you have any $$ showing in box 7 of a 1099-DIV form?

To clarify, did you receive any broker statements regarding interest, dividend payments or sale of foreign stocks and bonds? If not, here is how to remove the error message.

To remove this from your return:

1. Open or continue your return in TurboTax.
2. In the Search box (upper right hand side) type schedule b foreign accounts and trusts.
3. Click the Jump to link in the search results.
4. Answer None of the above to Tell Us About Any Foreign Bank Accounts.
5. Click Continue.
6. Answer None of the above to Tell Us About Any Foreign Trusts.
7. Click Continue.
8. Answer No, I don’t have foreign financial assets to Foreign Financial Assets.
9. Click Continue

If this doesn't remove the entry, try this:

In Turbo Tax Online:

• Tax tools
• Tools
• Delete a Form
• Look for Form 8938 and delete it and all of the worksheets associated with it

In Turbo Tax Software

• Go to the forms mode in your program
• Look for form 8938 and all worksheets associated with.  
• Delete the form and the worksheets
