Question

When I am entering my children's daycare, do I enter it in expenses AND care providers? If I enter only under care providers then it does not give a credit.

Daycare is listed as an "expense" but I don't want to double claim it if that's what it's doing. But if I don't enter it as an expense, it doesn't give me credit for it at all.

Not sure what you are trying to do or where you are trying to enter childcare as an "expense."   If you paid someone to take care of your child so you could work there is one place to enter it---under the Child and Dependent Care Credit.

Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>You and Your Family>Child and Dependent Care Credit

Enter the amount you paid to the childcare provider and the Tax ID or Social Security number of the childcare provider, as well as the amount you paid for childcare.
