When I printed my 1040 return, my paid mortgage interest was not on any of the forms. Did I not receive credit for interest paid?

I entered all the data on form 1098 received from my mortgage lender on the mortgage interest worksheet. When I printed my 1040 paper return, the mortgage interest paid does not show up on any of the 1040 paper return. How can I tell if I received a credit for mortgage interest when looking at the forms included with 1040 paper return? Also, do I need to include this form when mailing my paper return. I generally e-file my return, but must file a paper return this year due to circumstances beyond my control. Thank you for your help!

You may not have received credit for your mortgage interest paid if your standard deduction was higher than your itemized deductions.  Please click on/open up all the links in the FAQ for more detailed explanation.
