Question

Where can I find property taxes paid if it’s not on my 1098?

I have both my summer and winter tax bills from my city. If that helps.

The tax bills from the city will show the amounts billed to you. You can only deduct property taxes that you have actually paid during the year.

If you pay the tax yourself, the amounts paid can be found in your bank records.

If you pay the tax through escrow, then the amounts paid will be on your escrow statements.
