If you are referring to real estate (property) taxes paid on your home, they are an itemized deduction and entered on Schedule A. You may get a tax benefit if the total of all your itemized deductions are more than the standard deduction for your filing status. There is a limit of $10,000 on the total of real estate and state and local sales or income taxes.
