Solved
I contributed to my HSA out of pocket with after-tax money this year, which is not reflected on my W2. I maxed the 4150 contribution limit but my W2 only shows the 2000 I contributed through payroll. I've been digging around the support site, forums, reddit, etc for a week now and it and the AI chatbot both keep telling me to just go to the HSA section and it will ask me to input contributions but it never does. The only fields I get in the HSA section are 1099-SA distributions, there is NO FIELD TO ENTER CONTRIBUTIONS.
As stated above, you do need to continue through the interview.
- Go back and select edit for that 1099-SA
- (or enter the 1099-SA and report distributions if you have not already done so)
- When you get to the "Here's what we have so far" screen, the HSA should be listed and you should select the blue Done button
- "Did you inherit this HSA?" select "No"
- "Did you put money into an HSA in 2024?" select "Yes"
- The next screen will look as posted in the thread above.
