NJ started deducting upto $10000 from 2022 but I dont see an option to enter 529 contributions in the state section

Yes, it is possible that the screen will not come up if your gross income was greater than $200,000.  According to the screen that allows the data to be entered, your gross income must be less than $200,000 to take advantage of the deductions.

As you progress through your NJ return, there will be a question on the screen titled 'New Jersey College Affordability Deductions'.

Answer 'Yes' on that screen to go through that section of information.  Then, you will see a place to enter your NJBEST contributions so that you can receive the deduction.

If you have already gone through your NJ return, you can revisit this section by choosing to Update the Adjustments section of the return.

I have gone through the NJ State Return a few times but don't see this at all. Does this depend on anything in the Federal Tax Return? May be AGI/Gross income?
