Question

where does a 1099 s belong if it is property not a home. I sold property. I received a 1099-s . my spouse and child owned the property.

my spouse and I received a 1099-s and so did child. It was split between the three of us. Child does their own taxes so is not a dependent of me.

    You will enter this information under investments in "Stocks, Bonds, and Other" (as "other").  

    If the 1099-S reports the full value of the sale, enter only the portion that is attributable to your third.
