Where do I find my pre-tax deduction for transportation on my W-2? Last year this was shown in Box 14, but employer this year elected not to show it. Wouldn't it lower my taxable income?

Pre-tax deductions for transportation, such as commuter benefits, are typically shown in Box 14 of your W-2. Even if the pre-tax transit benefits are not shown in Box 14, they are usually excluded from your taxable wages in Boxes 1, 3, and 5. To ensure these deductions are excluded, you can review your pay stub for sections labeled "Pre-tax Deductions" or "Transit Benefits" and compare the total pre-tax transit deductions with the gross income reported in Box 1 of your W-2.
