You can deduct the portion of the fee that’s based on your vehicle’s value.

Follow the steps below to report your car registration:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes.
  3. Go to Deductions and Credits.
  4. Scroll down to Cars and Other Things You Own and click show more.
  5. Go to Car Registration Fees.
