Why can't my federal return be e-filed? I live in China and my income was entirely earned here in the year of 2019

If you used the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, and this reduced your income to $0, the return is not eligible to e-file.

One way to work around this is to enter an interest income of at least $1, if you have any income in interest-bearing accounts.

Otherwise, you will need to mail the return as the e-file system will not accept returns with $0 AGI.
