Why did IRS deny the additional child tax credit?

TurboTax included the full $2000 per child tax credit but shorted the refund by the refundable portion of $1700

    You should have received a letter from the IRS telling you why they made the change.  They are the only ones who can answer that.  Once your return is submitted, it is like it was dropped in the mailbox.  TurboTax has no access to see or look at anything.  The IRS does not provide information back to us.
