Why didn't I recieve my additional child tax credit with my federal refund?

If you had enough tax to use all of the child tax credit, then you don't qualify for the additional child tax credit. Qualifications for the Additional Child Tax Credit are the same as the Child Tax Credit, except you also need to have at least $3,000 in earned income. Turbo Tax will automatically give you this credit if you're eligible. Please view the qualifications for the child tax credit at the Turbo Tax FAQ below.
