Why does my State tax return think I itemized my medical expenses on my Federal return?

How do I just get Standard Deduction and not itemize medical expenses? The "OK, take me back" button wants more information for some reason.

    I don't know which State you are referring to, but some states allow certain itemized deductions even if you took the Standard Deduction on the federal return. That is, the state wants to know certain medical expenses so you can get an additional tax deduction at the state level.
