Why I don't get any EIC even if I have the same income as my friend in the same workplaces and he is receiving his?

Something must be different-- if you have no children, you have to be 25 or older to get EIC. Or does your co-worker have kids--and you do not? Or---are you someone else's dependent? You do not get EIC if you can be claimed as a dependent. You cannot get EIC if you file married filing separately.
