To see your fees, click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen. Then click on Tools. You will see My Fees in the center of the screen. This will show you why it is needing Deluxe.

See if you have form 8889 Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) in your return and are sure you do not have an HSA you may need to delete the form.

Once you are sure you don't need this form, you can delete it using the steps below.

    If you are using:

    • TurboTax Online: see How do I view and delete forms in TurboTax Online?
    • TurboTax Desktop:
      1. On the top right, there is a FORMS button.
      2. Click on FORMS.
      3. Locate the form you want to delete.
      4. Click on the form name.
      5. Below the form, bottom left, select DELETE FORM button.

If you want to downgrade, this FAQ will tell you how: How do I downgrade to a different TurboTax Online product?

Do you have an item on your W-2 in box 12 using code W?  That indicates you or your employer made payroll contributions to an HSA, and will make upgrading mandatory (because you must include form 8889).  If you have code W but no HSA, you need to get a corrected W-2 from your employer.  If you don't have code W, make sure you entered your HSA correctly.

Or if you have a SSA-1099 for social security, but you entered it as a 1099-SA (HSA distribution), that is also an HSA document and triggers the requirement.  You need to delete that entry and enter it again correctly.
