Why is my child credit only showing $2,000 instead of the $3,600?

The increased Child Tax Credit of $3,600 was only for tax year 2021. For tax years after 2021 it is the standard amount of $2,000.

Didn’t they just pass the bill 3 days ago to raise it back up this year?

No.

There is discussion in Congress but the law is not yet passed.
