Question

Why is my federal summary not showing a dependent care credit for 2021? I had dependent care expenses in 2021 but it's not showing the credit.

My review summary for 2022 shows a side by side comparison with my 2021 credit. The summary is showing I did not get a dependent care credit for 2021 even though I recorded care expenses for 2021.

Check Form 2441 in your PDF copy of your 2021 return to see how the Dependent Care Credit was calculated,   A credit would show on your 2021 Form 1040, Line 20.

 

The numbers on the summary page you are viewing while preparing your 2022 return may not be accurate.  It's what was actually filed to the IRS that counts.

 

If you're using TurboTax Online, try closing the program, clear your Cache and Cookies and revisiting the page.
