Why is my taxes on hold with a regula child tax credit, I didn't claim an additional child tax credit

I thought the PATH act was for people that had foster kids?? the IRS states that Minnesota is being held till after the 15th. I don't have foster kids

The PATH act is not just for foster kids, it is for all kids. When you qualify for the child tax credit, Turbotax automatically checks to see if you qualify for the Additional Child Tax Credit and it you do, then it gives it to you. You can easily see if you are getting that. Just look at your copy of your tax return. If it is a Form 1040A, you will find the ACTC on Line 43. If it is a Form 1040, you will find it on Line 67.

It's also if you claimed the EIC credit (even if you don't have any kids).
