Why is Turbo Tax applying the Child Tax Credit when I am not eligible for it

I have 1 dependent who was 18 at the end of 2024 so is not eligible for the child tax credit. Turbo Tax is applying $500 for the child tax credit and I can't seem to find a way to remove it since we are not eligible for it.

You lost the $2000 child tax credit when your child turned 17, but you can still get the $500 credit for other dependents for them.  It will be on line 19 of your Form 1040.

$500 is not for the Child Tax Credit .  It is for the Other Dependent credit.  It is right.

When the dependent is age 17 or older they are only eligible for the Other Dependent Credit of $500.

The $2,000 Child Tax Credit is only available for a dependent child under the age of 17.
